Mitchell Bailey – Owner/President
Junior (Lee) Bailey started Bailey’s Air Conditioning in 1976 courtesy of the training provided to him by the U.S. Army, passing on all this knowledge and skill to his son Mitch, who has since taken over. Mitch has 46 years of direct on-the-job experience, and now educates the new wave of prospective HVAC students through classes taught in coordination with the Institute of Heating and Air Conditioning Industries (IHACI) and the National Comfort Institute (NCI). He currently holds an Associate’s degree in Business Operations Management, along with six different North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certifications and certifications in duct design, load calculations, Title 24, Wrightsoft, zoning, and home automation. Mitch is somewhat of a Renaissance man, with hobbies including, but not limited to: flying, sailing, rock climbing, volleyball, astrophysics, astronomy, poker, and home brewery. Come on down to his Friday night poker games!
Candy Bailey – Office Manager
Candy (short for Candice) has been working full-time at Bailey’s since 2010, but could often be found helping out in the summers before, then, too. Candy works hard to give the same dedication and commitment to Bailey’s that she did at her alma mater, Fresno State, and to ensure that everybody in the office and field delivers the best experience to our beloved customers. In her spare time, she loves to cook and is (slowly!) learning the French language (having mostly forgotten the previous two she studied- Spanish and Japanese!).
Bob Gunn – Install/Service Manager
Our most senior technician and a former HVAC business owner himself, Bob has over 30 years’ experience in this field. Trained by the U.S. Navy Engineering Department in sheet metal fabrication, he then spent his time as a commercial contractor developing expertise across a number of disciplines. Bob holds multiple NATE certifications and you’d be hard-pressed to find a system- no matter how old or rare- that he hasn’t seen before. When not overseeing installs and helping technicians troubleshoot equipment, Bob divides his time between hunting and volunteering with various organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America, the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus.
Kim Bailey – Secretary/Treasurer
Kim had already been studying bookkeeping in high school when she met and then married Mitch, so eventually joining him in the office at Bailey’s ended up being a perfect and serendipitous fit. Bailey’s would truly be in chaos without Kim’s expertise, seeing how she oversees all the important clerical work that keeps a business up and running. Although if she had her way, she’d be at home practicing her guitar with a new German Shepherd puppy at her side.
Robert Aguilar – Installer
Robert and Bailey’s Air Heroes has a long history- all the way back to our days in new tract home construction! Incredibly hard-working (including his landscaping work on the side), Robert’s twenty years in the HVAC industry, along with his strong people skills and a friendly and outgoing attitude (don’t let him fool you- he’s a jokester!), will make your new system install a wonderful experience. After work, Robert spends time with his family and loves to root for his favorite football team!
Sami Cardoza – Administrative Assistant
With us almost a year now, Samantha is our most recently hired receptionist, who brings the same drive and passion to the office as she did to her past fifteen years’ as a line cook and her current studies for an associate’s degree in accounting (congratulate her on graduating this Spring 2023!). In addition to talking with her on the phone, you might also see her stopping ay at one of our supply houses for parts, or delivering filters to the technicians on site. Outside of work, she enjoys making beaded animal keychains and macramé dreamcatchers, loves music (she has the mind of a jukebox!), and is constantly singing to her own tune.
Veronica Leary – Administrative Assistant
After more than three years here with us at Bailey’s Air Heroes, you probably recognize Veronica’s voice if you’ve ever called in (or especially called in needing someone who speaks Spanish!). She has more than 30 years of office experience under her belt and a strong work ethic. In her personal life, she is devoted to her faith, silly puns, 70’s rock music, and living room karaoke with her family and friends. Oh- and her favorite color is donut!
Jacob Thompson – Technician
Much like the Bailey’s themselves, Jake came to HVAC via family- he’s been working in the field with his uncle since he was eight years old, and he’s been with Bailey’s Air Heroes now for seven years, honing his skills as a technician. Downtime for Jake means working on his truck and playing music.
Robert Rodriguez – Installer
A Natural Gas Appliance Testing (NGAT)- trained professional coming to us from a background in energy efficiency (and before that, flooring), Robert has been in HVAC a little over a year, working here at Bailey’s Air Heroes for four months. When he’s not working hard to install HVAC systems, you can find him at home in his spare time cooking (especially on the BBQ and grill!).
Curtis Ready – Technician
Curtis has been in the HVAC industry for over 14 years, the last five of which have been here with Bailey’s Air Heroes. He’s 39 years old and happily married with a 5-year old daughter; in between work and chasing after her, he also likes fantasy and mythology lore and gaming (both PC and the board variety).
Anthony Salazar – Warehouse Assistant
Coming from a background in house and automotive painting, Anthony is enjoying learning about the HVAC industry through the day-to-day work of assisting Liz in the shop. His hobbies include eating, spending time with his family, playing video games, and his animals (three cats and two dogs!). Give him a wave if you see him dropping something off during a delivery!
Liz Martinez – Warehouse Manager
Liz graduated from the Institute of Technology in February of 2021 and toils behind-the-scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly and our shop is stocked with trucks ready to go out for work, along with keeping those same vehicles maintained and even sometimes filling in out in the field when necessary. In her spare time, she likes to cook (and especially bake), and spend time with her kids, as well as reading and crafting (indeed, many a Bailey’s employee- or their children- have a hand-knitted beanie or sock she’s made!).
Leo Mercado – Maintenance Technician/Installer
Leo started off his career here with Bailey’s Air Heroes after graduating from the Institute of Technology two years ago and bounces back and forth between both install and maintenance work- so don’t be surprised if he both puts your new system in and comes back the following year to service it! Outside of his HVAC career, he likes to play guitar, sports, and spend time with his dog Gizmo (he’ll love to give your critters a friendly scritch!).
Carlos Garcia – Technician/installer
A graduate of Fresno Community College’s HVAC courses, Carlos has been in the HVAC industry for four years and strives to keep himself trained on residential and light commercial HVAC systems, with a bevy of certifications from the National Comfort Institute (NCI), North American Technician Excellence (NATE), and the Institute of Heating and Air Conditioning Industries (IHACI). In his spare time, he likes to skate, snowboard, mountain bike, and travel. His favorite quote? “Without data, you’re just another guy with an opinion.” – W. Edward Deming.
Steve D’Amico – Comfort Specialist
Steve began working in the HVAC and plumbing industry in San Francisco back in 1995 and then, after eventually obtaining his C-20 license, began to work directly as a contractor (joining Bailey’s Air Heroes in 2019). His involvement in training in building sciences and Home Performance Testing has deepened with us over the past few years and you’ll find no bigger advocate of the stellar high-efficiency systems that Trane manufactures. Steve has a lifelong passion for horses, classically trained in various forms of dressage. Between horses, HVAC, teaching, and caring for his cats and dog, he manages to stay busy and stay out of trouble!
Dennis Fasano – Installer
Dennis graduated from the DeHart Technical School and has been in the HVAC industry installing systems for seven years- the last three of these with us here at Bailey’s Air Heroes. He’s been rootin’ for the Niners since day one, and always brings his great sense of humor to the jobsite- be ready for a joke and a smile when he pulls up to your job site, especially when he’s with his frequent install member, Robert Aguilar!
Alex Magana – Technician
Alex started out on the other side of the counter at a local HVAC supplier; since then, in the five years since, he’s barreled full-force into the industry, graduating from the Institute of Technology and working with Bailey’s Air Heroes for two years. He likes to fish, is a film enthusiast (don’t get him started on Star Wars!), and enjoys interacting with fellow professionals on HVAC online social media platforms like Reddit.
Joey Rodriguez – Technician
A graduate of the Institute of Technology, Joey has nearly fifteen years of experience in the HVAC industry, five of which have been right here with Bailey’s Air Heroes! In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hiking, going to the gym, and riding his dirt bike.
